I do not want to get into a conversation about if readable / traditional UVs are better or worse. All they need to be is a UV map that a brush stroke in a 3D painting app dose not distort as it flows over the mesh. I just do not think human readable UVs arethat important anymore. The thing is that I am not a UV guy and actually in my workflow I am not even sure they are needed in the traditional sense. The learning curve is pretty steep switching apps like this but I'm lucky as they have given me some time to basically just learn. I am coming from Zbrush / Substance Designer / Max to a new job where they use mainly use Blender and Armour Painter, there is a modo license around here as well I think.
